Power Rankings
Why this isn’t just the championship table
Formula E’s Gen3 Evo chassis and battery are fully spec — there is no manufacturer engine pace to adjust for the way there is in IndyCar or F1. Instead, this ranking blends points-per-race with the number that best isolates race-day skill from grid position on this data: average positions gained between qualifying and the finish, which rewards drivers whose strategy and energy management consistently beat their grid slot.

Where these numbers come from
Points per race, blended with the average number of grid positions gained (or lost) between qualifying and the finish across every race this season. This is Formula E’s honest analogue to an equipment-adjusted ranking — there is no manufacturer-pace signal to adjust by on a fully spec chassis and battery, so race-strategy execution stands in for it.
Score is 70% points-per-race, 30% average positions gained. It exists to order the grid, not to be read as a measurement — the number itself carries no meaning beyond rank.
