A single qualifying lap strips away strategy, tyre wear and race luck — closer to a pure measure of who got more out of the same spec chassis and the same team-supplied engine on a given weekend than a race result ever is. This table counts, for every team, how many qualifying sessions each driver has out-paced their own teammate this season.

Where these numbers come from
Qualifying classifications from every session this season, sourced from indycar.com’s own results API. Only weekends where both of a team’s drivers set a classified qualifying time count — a team missing a driver for a round compares on fewer sessions rather than a filled-in guess.
