Class Pace
Why this replaces “Teammate Pace”
Every WEC car is shared by 2-3+ drivers via stint rotation — they never drive the car simultaneously, so there is no teammate-pace gap to measure the way F1, IndyCar, Formula E or even WRC’s driver/co-driver pair can measure one. This asks a different, honestly answerable question instead: which TEAM has the fastest car within its class, using each team’s best qualifying or Hyperpole lap.
No road-position correction is applied — unlike WRC’s gravel/snow rally stages, WEC races on asphalt circuits where running position doesn’t sweep the track clear for cars behind, so raw lap times are compared directly within a class.

Where these numbers come from
Each team’s fastest qualifying or Hyperpole lap per event (its single quickest car when it fields more than one), medianed across recent events. A team fielding only its average-pace car in one event and its fastest in another is reflected honestly — this is a median, not a best-case number.
