Points plus pace, not points alone
This blends points-per-rally with a road-position-corrected stage pace signal: each driver’s stage time expressed as a delta from the field median rather than compared raw, since running earlier on a loose (gravel/snow) stage sweeps it clear for the cars behind and makes a raw-time comparison dishonest. Where these numbers come from
Points per rally from the WRC’s own Drivers’ standings, blended with the median road-position-corrected stage-pace delta computed from every completed stage of recent rallies. Score is 65% points-per-rally, 35% pace: it exists to order the grid, not to be read as a measurement.
Per-stage times aren’t directly exposed by the data source and are reconstructed by differencing cumulative rally classifications between consecutive stages — see Teammate Pace for the full caveat.
