Teammate Pace

Road position, corrected for — this is not a raw-time comparison

Rally has no qualifying lap, and comparing raw stage times between two drivers — even teammates — is misleading: on gravel or snow, the car that runs earliest on a stage sweeps it clear of loose surface, making later cars’ raw times faster for reasons that have nothing to do with driver skill.

What this actually measures:each entry’s stage time is expressed as a delta from that stage’s field median, and only those road-position-neutral deltas are compared between teammates — never raw times directly. Median (not mean) so one bad stage or a crash doesn’t swing the number.

Per-stage times aren’t directly exposed by the data source: they’re reconstructed by differencing cumulative rally classifications between consecutive completed stages. This is mathematically sound provided no stage-specific penalty gets retroactively applied to an earlier stage — treat these numbers as best-effort, not a lab-grade timing feed.
