Not a single lap, and not Q1 alone
Each car’s pace is its drivers’ best-reached qualifying segment — Q3 if they got there, otherwise Q2, otherwise Q1 — averaged across both cars and blended over the last three race weekends. A car that reaches Q3 is credited as faster than one eliminated in Q1, rather than comparing everyone on Q1 times alone, which understates genuinely quick cars that never need to set one.

Where these numbers come from
Qualifying classifications from every session this season, scraped from official results. Each team’s figure is its two cars’ best-reached-segment times, averaged together and blended over the last three race weekends so one bad session doesn’t swing the ranking.
