One lap, same car, no excuses
A single qualifying lap strips away strategy, tyre wear and race luck — it is closer to a pure measure of who got more out of the same machine on a given weekend than a race result ever is. This table counts, for every team, how many qualifying sessions each driver has out-paced their own teammate this season. A lopsided record here says something a championship gap between different teams can’t: it isolates the driver from the car entirely.

Where these numbers come from
Qualifying classifications from every session this season. Only weekends where both of a team’s drivers set a classified qualifying position count — a team missing a driver to injury for several rounds compares on fewer sessions rather than a filled-in guess.
