What makes it different
- Runs down the Las Vegas Strip on a 1.9 km straight, and is the second-longest lap of the season behind Spa.
- A late-night race in the desert in November: track temperatures can fall near 10 °C, the coldest conditions of the year, and getting tyres into their working range is the whole problem.
- Almost every corner is 90 degrees or a long sweeper - there is very little middle ground for setup.
- Liberty Media promotes the Las Vegas Grand Prix itself rather than through an independent local promoter, the only self-promoted round on Formula 1's calendar as of the 2026 season.

2024 · McLaren's double disqualification hits the title fight
Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri were both disqualified after the 2024 race for illegal skid-block wear, promoting Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz into the points. It struck directly at that year's constructors' and drivers' championship fights in the season's final stretch.
2023 · Wrecked by a drain cover
Nine minutes into first practice for the inaugural 2023 race, Carlos Sainz ran over a loose water-valve cover that tore through his Ferrari's floor. The damage wrote off his chassis, engine and battery, and the replacement parts triggered a grid penalty that dropped him to 11th before the race even started.
