What makes it different

  • The shortest lap in F1 and the only round that fails the modern minimum race distance - it runs to a reduced 260 km rather than the usual 305.
  • The Grand Hotel hairpin is the slowest corner in Formula 1, taken at around 45 km/h, and teams fit special steering racks to get enough lock for it.
  • Every drain cover on the circuit is welded down for the weekend - the downforce is strong enough to suck one loose, as happened to Jenson Button's car in 2016.

Home race

Home race for Charles Leclerc.
